Shred Your Important Documents at CUTX

At Credit Union of Texas, security is paramount. Because security doesn’t stop with your digital finances, we offer free shred days at our stores! We provide the giant paper-munching shredder and you provide your sensitive documents.

Which sensitive documents?

Anything with personal information, account numbers, your signature, social security number, or medical & legal information. Think old passports, canceled checks, bank statements, tax forms, legal documents, pay stubs, receipts with signatures, and report cards. The list is endless. When in doubt, shred it! Just make sure to only bring paper documents; we can’t shred an old pair of shoes! Limit four tall (13 gallon) kitchen bags, or four banker’s boxes or equivalent.

  1. I received an email with the news letter about the shredding of documents. I would like to know why it is never at the Gross location. That is a busy location which is more convenient for a lot of us in this area.

      • Dear Credit Union of Texas reply to Debra. She asked about the Gross location not the Ross location. When are you going to have shredding at the GROSS location? That is the largest CUTX location in Eastern Dallas.

        • Hello Ronald. The next shred day scheduled for our Mesquite store, on Gross Rd., is Saturday June 10, 2017. We look forward to seeing you there!

  2. Why aren’t there any shredding services offered at the Ross Avenue location? Shouldn’t customers in the inner city have the same amenities that suburban customers do? Hopefully you will inform us when- not if- one comes to us.

  3. I have at least one boxfull to shred, but we were out of town for the date when you came to Irving.. Lewisville is a direction where we seldem go.. however, we could stop by the Walton Walker location. will you have a date there?

  4. could there be a shred day at the Gross Rd location at year end? A lot of people purge household stuff at the end of the year. Next 2017 dates are a way out. If not the Credit union, are there any other locations that shred in the local area of Mesquite, Forney, etc?

    • Hello Gayla, unfortunately our shred dates are already set for 2017. A google search shows that UPS Stores offer shredding services as well; I suggest contacting your nearest store for details. Have a great day!

    • Hello Nicky,

Once you drive up, you will place your documents in a trash receptacle. Once it becomes full, the trash receptacle dumps its contents into the shredder. If you would like to witness your documents be shredded, we suggest parking after you have dropped off your documents and joining us.

    • Roberto, another box or bag will do. We use 4 bankers boxes for a rough estimate on the amount of documents you can bring. Have a great day!

  5. Once again we that use the Ross Avenue
Office were not included for a shred day in 2017. Your response in September said it would be scheduled. :(

    • Gloria, we originally scheduled a shred day for our Ross location, however we had to retract because the location does not allow room for the large shred truck. We apologize for the inconvenience.

      • Ross Avenue is also our closest location, and I have specifically asked and have been told for about a year that shred services were coming to Ross Avenue. With the limitations on the amount of boxes you will accept per shredding event, it is hardly worth driving 20-30 minutes for this service. This is really a service I used to use, but it has just been made too inconvenient to be of any benefit.

        • Hi Jan! Unfortunately, our Ross location doesn’t have room for the big shred truck. We apologize for the inconvenience.
